A Learning Record Store (LRS) is a centralized datastore in which you can collect and connect activity data that is generated from the various components of your learning, training, and HR ecosystem.
Experience data about activity, behavior, learning, and performance, generated from tools and technologies that are Experience API (xAPI) enabled, are unified from across your technology tools and stored in the LRS.
The xAPI specification allows for data to be processed into an LRS in a standardized way, creating unified data. The LRS then can either present a user with insights into the data through a data visualization dashboard or allow you to port the data from the LRS to a data consumer such as Tableau or other business intelligence tools.
An xAPI Learning Record Store provides individual team members and organizational stakeholders access to unified interoperable data, generates an immutable, auditable log of activity, and the ability to make decisions with actionable, real-time data.
An xAPI Learning Record Store must attain the Conformance Certification from the Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative (ADL) at the United States Department of Defense. This conformance certification ensures that the data in the LRS has been stored and processed according to exacting standards and is therefore interoperable across any system or application employing the xAPI specification. The Yet Analytics xAPI LRS is the first to attain ADL's xAPI Conformance Certification.
